Independent Stockpilers: +2%

Independent stockpilers are predicted to increase in quantity due to social trends of females being more financially independent. Such a circumstance causes these women to become independent stockpilers instead of relying on their mothers to purchase sanitary pads on their behalf. Later childbirth due to professional ambition also mean longer years as Independent Stockpilers versus Caregivers.

Financial Analysis

2

Caregivers: -0.2%

We expect the Caregiver segment to become smaller, because shrinking family sizes[1] mean shorter years as Caregiver. Also, as daughters become more financially independent and prefer to make their own purchases, mothers who were Caregivers become Independent Stockpilers, purchasing sanitary pads for their own use only.[1] http://worldpopulationreview.com/continents/world-population/

Urgent Needs: +0.3%

The size of the Urgent Needs segment is expected to increase. Firstly, with more women being independent instead of relying on a caregiver to make purchases, some of these women will prefer to buy when needed, rather than to accumulate a ‘stash’ beforehand. Secondly, with the advent of technology giving rise to more distractions, coupled with the fact that retailers are becoming more widespread, making it more convenient to make last minute purchases, more women would tend to rely on spontaneous purchase to satisfy sanitary needs.

Cycle Buyers: +0.3%

The size of the Cycle Buyers segment is expected to increase. With more women being independent instead of relying on a caregiver to make purchases, women may increasingly prefer to buy when needed instead of accumulating a ‘stash’ beforehand.
